about the artist

Suzanna Toole is a contemporary artist based in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Her work explores the intersection of memory, place, and pattern, offering a visual dialogue between the external world and internal reflection.

Suzanna’s artistic practice is twofold. One body of work draws inspiration from her travels—capturing the essence of places she’s visited and the fleeting impressions of people she’s encountered. Photography serves as an integral part of her process, acting as both a reference and a springboard for her painted interpretations.

In contrast, her abstract work explores spontaneity and form through what she calls found flowers—a term she coined to describe her expressive, floral-inspired abstractions. These pieces are marked by a focus on composition, layering, and the physicality of the natural world, reflecting an intuitive approach to painting.

She earned her BA from the University of Georgia in 2013. Her work continues to evolve as she explores new techniques and visual languages, rooted in both observation and imagination.
